About Macau
what to do,
gambling,
casinos,
China Hong
Kong
|
|
and more.
Dozens
of gambling palaces makes
Macau itself a high roller,
the casino revenues are
running into billions per
year, alone in 2011 a
staggering 42 percent
revenue came in. |
|
|
According
to some
cloudy
statistics
the city
has even
overtaken
Las
Vegas -
and the
boom
just
started,
most
visitors
come
from
Hong
Kong and
China.
At the
baccarat
tables,
the
croupier
distribute
cards.
All
seats
are
occupied,
the
player
in the
center
with a
cigarette
between
the lips
set
10000-12000
Hong
Kong
dollars
per
game. He
is a
lucky
chips of
1000
Hong
Kong
dollars
roll in
continuously,
other
people
are
watching
and
applaud
each
time the
bank has
to pay.
This is
a normal
day in
the
Venetian
casino
Macau.
The
gambling
hall
already
starts
to fill
up in
the
morning
and is
full all
the day
until
closing
in the
night.
There
are 200
game
tables;
the
people
usually
play
baccarat
and
blackjack.
These
casinos
did not
impose a
dress
code
like in
a
Singapore
casino
everyone
can come
in, no
silly
you must
do this
and that
and here
and
there,
they try
to tap
the mass
market,
this is
where
the real |
|
money
is, not
with
just a
few high
roller.
The
"mass
market"
is on
the
Chinese
mainland,
across
the
border
of the
former
Portuguese
colony
of
Macau.
The
Chinese
government
has an
ambivalent
attitude
to
gambling:
on the
one
hand, it
prohibits
advertising
for the
casinos
of
Macau,
which
was also
after
his
return
under
Beijing's
rule in
1999 as
a
"Special
Administrative
Region
'own
rules
and
laws. |
Large
profits
from the
Macau
casinos
are
rolling
to
Beijing,
a real
money
machine
for the
government
in
Beijing
which
issues
all
necessary
permits
and as
in China
almost
everything
is money
driven,
that’s
the
place
where
the
“music
plays”
since
the
power of
money is
evident.
Gambling
visitors
from
China
make up
about 60
percent.
In 2011
a total
of
nearly
25
million
tourists
came to
this
gambling
paradise,
about
ten
percent
more
than the
year
before,
Macau
itself
has
about
half a
million
inhabitants.
The 34
casinos
are gold
mines.
In 2011,
33.9
billion

Between
the two
main
islands
of
Macau,
Taipa
and
Coloane,
is a
narrow
strip of
land
that is
piled on
and on,
to make
room for
entertainment.
At the
so-called
Cotai
Strip is
the
Venetian
- a huge
building
with
authentic
replicas
of the
Doge's
Palace
and the
Rialto
Bridge
of
Venice.
The
building
includes
a big
shopping
mall
where
all
branded
goods
from all
over the
world
are
available.
When having enough from shopping and gambling
take one of the gondolas and glide through an artificial "Canale Grande". The female and male gondoliers from around the world sing "Santa Lucia" and "O sole mio", yes, no yoke.
Everything is directed to amusement, entertainment and fun to get you into the right moos for gambling, even if its only a casual game the casinos make the money via bulk. |

Macau
what to
do?
Easy to
answer,
its
gambling
and
entertainment.
Soon,
close to
the
Venetian
a new
casino
will.
From the

the
distance
construction
can be
seen,

Other

sites
are
highly
competitive.
On the

next to
the

a second

Some
days the

at Macao
cant
cope
with the
huge
crowd

in. Most
young

at Macao
try to
get a
job at
the

they
continuously

more

pay
better

After

monopole
in 1994,
the
market
virtually
exploded,
more and

was
acquired.
Even the
old

Ho, who

now he
makes
more
profits
than
ever

Soon,
Chinese
high-speed

will
stop

Macau
and
bring
even
more

to

On the

space
for 12

are that
by 2020
the

will

About
Macau
Macau is
situated
at the
southeast
coast of
China;
it is
one of
the
special
administrative
region
of the
country
because
of the
former
Portuguese
colonial
times,
the same
as it Is
with
Hong
Kong
wich was
under
British
colonial
rule.
This is
one of
Asia's
top
gambling
destination,
although
some
Casinos
have
been
built in
Singapore
(another
more or
less
Chinese
city)
they are
no match
for
Macau.
The
charm of
the city
comes
from
colonial
flair
which is
still
visible
everywhere
in terms
of
buildings
and
environ.
The
cities
name
comes
from
Magao
(A-Ma
Temple),
a temple
which
was
dedicated
to Mazu,
the
sacred
sea
goddess.
Legend
tells
when the
Portuguese
first
arrived
here in
the
sixteenth
century,
one of
the crew
asked a
fisherman
for the
name of
the
place
the
fishermen
he
obviously
misunderstanding
the
question
and
answered
'Magao'
– since
the A-Ma
Temple
was just
in front
of them.
The
Portuguese
made
Macau
out of
it and
this is
now
since
more
than 400
years,
in
1999the
place
was
given
back to
China.
With
around
half a
million
natives
the
population
and 27
sqkm
it’s
rather
small
compared
to the
usual
well
known
Chinese
cities
such as
Shanghai
and
other
but
there
are very
big
cities
in close
proximity
such as
Hong
Kong,
Guangzhou
and
other.
The core
of the
city is
on the
peninsula
with
plenty
of
Chinese
and
Western
influence
and
style.
It’s a
very
interesting
mix of
traditional
and
modern.
There
are
small
islands
around
which
are
currently
used to
expend
the
place to
built
more
casinos,
hotels
and
resorts
the
place
virtually
scream
gambling
and
entertainment
